No one ever leads by just reading, every great leader is a visualizer and an action figure. Stop burying your head in the pieces of the book and start reading about the world and its culture, ethnicity, and diversity.
Hey Friends,
Over a decade, I have been persuaded by the caption “Leaders are Readers” and there is a misconception about the quote. What exactly is reading? Who is a reader? And what is meant to read? These are questions we neglect and yet cling to the cross-hood of the phrase “Leaders are Readers”
What distinguishes a great leader from a mere leader is the amount of knowledge acquired by that leader, keyword Knowledge! Knowledge is the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association. Knowledge is built when one acquires a distinct set of information. One only beats his opponent in a chess game strictly on a basis of a better strategy built and developed over time.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not scorning on the ideology of picking up a book from a shelf at the library and carefully studying its content. I am disapproving of a habit of constantly assimilating information through the act of reading yet to know how or when to put the knowledge to its use.
No one ever leads by just reading, every great leader is a visualizer and an action figure. Stop burying your head in the pieces of the book and start reading about the world and its culture, ethnicity, and diversity. Every incident, disapproval, failure, smile, culture, war, desire, fear, and chaos is a story to be read from.
It is said “If you’re lacking vision you’re not standing on enough book” but great leaders would paraphrase it by saying “If you’re lacking vision you’re not standing on enough Knowledge” because it’s not just books or great books that make you a visionary rather it’s your experience of humanity at large that gives you a better perspective.
It’s never enough to be reading, start visualizing and take action because that is how leaders are groomed, we rise by falling.
👍👍
A wonderful asthetic.
